Donated sale items are collected throughout the year and stored in a large warehouse space that is generously provided to our mission in partnership with a local moving and storage company. For the entire week leading up to the Springfest sale, an army of volunteers works tirelessly to prepare the church building and grounds by clearing the fellowship hall and all classrooms, displaying signage, setting up tables, prepping the church yard for a large event tent, unloading delivery trucks, and unpacking and organizing hundreds of boxes of sale items and several truckloads of furniture and appliances. The day of the sale begins with the arrival of a crew of church volunteers at five o'clock in the morning to cook and set up for the biscuit sale. Other volunteers assist with parking, greeting shoppers, cashiering, loading furniture, ensuring a safe and effective flow of shopper traffic, and cleaning up as the sale ends.

 

None of the funds raised at Springfest go towards Westminster's own church programming. All proceeds are used to help support the children of Cumberland County. Throughout the year, mission volunteers work with school social workers, nurses, and teachers to provide assistance with uniforms and clothing, eye exams and eyeglasses, transportation and many other needs.

The Springfest event is a massive undertaking, but members truly enjoy the opportunity to glorify God through this incredible ministry. There is a place for the entire church family to participate in the Springfest mission and the presence of the Holy Spirit is felt throughout the congregation as members serve together as the Body of Christ. Springfest is a true embodiment of the loving, giving, serving spirit of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
